College of Computing & Informatics Mock Class: How do Search Engines do that?

Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

Join us for a virtual, interactive computing workshop, hosted by faculty member, Dr. Tammy Pirmann. You will learn about how computers can search through bodies of text for specific words and other forms of words using stemming and lemmatization. You will learn in a team setting with specific roles, the way we do in several first-year courses.

After the team based ‘lecture’, you will work with one or two other students on an abbreviated lab experience related to the concepts just learned.  This event is for all students interested in any field of computing. Experience in programming is not required, but certainly welcomed! Come make friends and learn together!

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
